7-Day Money-Back Guarantee — Terms, Eligibility & Process

Last Updated: June 2025  |  Version 2.4  |  Read carefully before purchasing

1. Refund Policy Overview

General principles governing our refund policy

GoHostBiz is committed to providing reliable, high-quality hosting services. We understand that occasionally circumstances may arise where a refund is warranted. This Refund Policy document outlines the complete terms, conditions, eligibility criteria, and procedures governing refunds for all GoHostBiz services.

This policy is an integral part of our Terms of Service. By purchasing any GoHostBiz service, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by this Refund Policy in its entirety.

📅

⚙️

Refunds are for unresolved hosting infrastructure problems

🛡️
Resolution First

Must give us 72 hours to resolve before refund request

🏦
Processing Time

Approved refunds processed within 5-7 working days

Important — Read Before Purchase

This Refund Policy is designed to be fair to both parties. We provide refunds only in cases of genuine, unresolvable technical issues with our hosting infrastructure. We do NOT offer refunds for:

  • Change of mind or personal preference
  • Lack of technical knowledge to use hosting services
  • Issues with third-party software, scripts, or source code
  • Finding a cheaper alternative elsewhere

We strongly encourage you to evaluate our services during the 7-day period and contact support for any issues before the refund window expires.

2. Core Refund Principle

The fundamental rule that governs all refund decisions

Our Refund Philosophy

"We refund only when our hosting infrastructure fails you — not when your expectations, technical knowledge, or third-party software fails you."

GoHostBiz offers a 7-day money-back guarantee on eligible hosting plans — but this guarantee is conditional, not unconditional. A refund will only be approved when the following three conditions are ALL met:

  1. Genuine Hosting Infrastructure Issue: There is a verifiable, demonstrable problem with our server infrastructure, network, or core hosting services that is GoHostBiz's responsibility — not a problem with your website code, third-party scripts, domain configuration, or personal setup.
  2. Unresolvable by Our Team: You have reported the issue to our technical support team via a proper support ticket, and our team has attempted to resolve it but has been unable to do so within 72 hours of your report.
  3. Within 7-Day Window: The refund request is initiated within 7 calendar days from the date of initial service activation. Refund requests after this period will not be entertained under any circumstances.

Misconceptions About "Money-Back Guarantee"

Many customers misunderstand the term "money-back guarantee" to mean "no-questions-asked refund for any reason." This is incorrect. Our money-back guarantee is a service quality guarantee — if our hosting service quality is deficient and we cannot fix it, we refund your money. It is not a "free trial" or "change of mind" guarantee.

3. Complete Refund Eligibility Matrix

Service-by-service breakdown of refund eligibility

The following table provides a comprehensive, service-by-service breakdown of refund eligibility. This is the definitive reference for whether your specific service qualifies for a refund:

Note on Promotional/Discounted Plans

If you purchased a plan at a special promotional price, discounted rate, or using a coupon code, the refund amount will be calculated based on the actual amount paid, not the regular plan price. If the plan was provided as a free bonus with another purchase, no monetary refund is applicable for the free component.

4. What Qualifies for a Full Refund

Specific scenarios where a full refund will be approved

The following scenarios represent valid, qualifying reasons for a full refund. In each case, documentation and proof are required. Verbal claims without evidence will not be accepted.

Qualifying Refund Scenarios (Proof Required)

4.1 Persistent Server Downtime

Your website experiences downtime exceeding our 99.9% uptime Service Level Agreement (SLA). You must provide:

  • Screenshots from independent uptime monitoring services (UptimeRobot, Pingdom, HetrixTools, etc.) showing downtime timestamps
  • Downtime logs spanning a continuous period (not intermittent, brief outages)
  • Proof that the downtime was due to server infrastructure failure, not your own configuration, code, or third-party service
  • Evidence that you reported the downtime to our support team and it remained unresolved for 72+ hours
4.2 Complete Service Unavailability

Your hosting service is completely inaccessible (not intermittent slowdowns) and our technical team cannot resolve the issue after 72 hours of investigation. Acceptable proof includes:

  • Error logs showing consistent failures over the 72-hour period
  • Support ticket history demonstrating our team's acknowledgment of the unresolved issue
  • Screenshots of error messages (500 Internal Server Error, 503 Service Unavailable, etc.) with visible timestamps
4.3 Missing Advertised Feature

A fundamental feature that was explicitly advertised and promised as part of your plan is completely missing and cannot be provided by our team. This includes:

  • Promised control panel access (cPanel/DirectAdmin) not provided
  • Advertised resource allocation (disk space, bandwidth) significantly less than what was purchased
  • Promised software/technology stack (specific PHP version, database type) not available and cannot be installed
  • Advertised free SSL certificate not provisionable

This does NOT include minor variations, deprecated features, or features that require specific configurations on your end.

4.4 Game Hosting — Source Code Not Delivered

For Game Hosting plans only: GoHostBiz completely failed to deliver or send the promised free source code to you. This is the ONLY source-code-related refund scenario. Proof required:

  • Evidence that you requested the source code via proper communication channel (WhatsApp/ticket)
  • Evidence that more than 48 hours passed without receiving any code files
  • Confirmation from our team acknowledging non-delivery
4.5 Duplicate / Double Payment

You were charged twice for the same service due to a payment gateway error or accidental double payment. In this case:

  • Only the extra/duplicate amount is refunded, not the entire payment
  • You must provide transaction IDs for both payments
  • Refund processed immediately upon verification — no 72-hour resolution period required

5. What Does NOT Qualify for a Refund

Exhaustive list of non-qualifying refund reasons

The following are reasons that customers frequently cite when requesting refunds. NONE of these qualify for a refund under any circumstances. Please read this section carefully before purchasing to avoid misunderstandings.

Non-Qualifying Refund Reasons — All Will Be Rejected

  • "I don't like the hosting service" / "I'm not satisfied"
Personal satisfaction is subjective. The 7-day period exists for you to evaluate our service quality. If no technical hosting issue exists, personal preference is not grounds for a refund.
  • "I found better/cheaper hosting elsewhere"
Comparison shopping after purchase does not constitute a valid refund reason. Our pricing is clearly displayed before checkout.
  • "I purchased by mistake / accidentally"
Our checkout process includes multiple confirmation steps. You are responsible for verifying your purchase before completing payment. Accidental purchases are not refundable unless it resulted in a duplicate payment (see Section 4.5).
  • "I don't know how to use cPanel / hosting / FTP"
Lack of technical knowledge is not GoHostBiz's responsibility. We provide 24/7 support to guide you through basic operations. We also offer paid professional services if you need hands-on assistance.
  • "My website / WordPress / script is not loading"
Website loading issues are almost always configuration-related, not hosting infrastructure failures. Contact support to diagnose and resolve these issues. If the server itself is functioning correctly, this is not a refund-qualifying issue.
  • "My website source code is not working"
Source code functionality is not GoHostBiz's responsibility. You paid for hosting server resources, not software development. Source code is a free bonus — see Section 8 for details.
  • "I don't need hosting anymore" / "My project was cancelled"
Change of circumstances, project cancellation, or no longer needing the service is not a valid refund reason.
  • After account has been suspended for policy violations
Accounts suspended or terminated for violating our Terms of Service (Section 5: Prohibited Activities) are permanently ineligible for refunds.
  • Account created with fake/false information
Accounts with fraudulent registration information are permanently ineligible for refunds and will be terminated.
  • After self-cancellation without contacting support
If you cancel your service through the client panel without first submitting a support ticket and allowing resolution time, you forfeit all refund eligibility. See Section 9.
  • After 7 days from service activation
The 7-day window is absolute and non-negotiable. No refund requests will be entertained after this period under any circumstances.
  • "The server is slow" without evidence
Subjective claims of slowness without objective performance data (TTFB measurements, load time comparisons, resource usage logs) do not qualify. Contact support for performance optimization.
  • "Email delivery issues"
Email delivery problems are often caused by DNS configuration (SPF, DKIM, DMARC), blacklisting due to spam from your account, or recipient server policies. These are not hosting infrastructure failures.
  • "My website got hacked"
Website security is primarily your responsibility — keeping software updated, using strong passwords, and maintaining security practices. Being hacked does not qualify for a refund unless you can prove the breach originated from our server infrastructure.

6. 50% Partial Refund — Discretionary Cases

Borderline cases where partial refund may be offered

In certain borderline situations where the refund request does not fully meet the criteria for a complete refund, but is also not entirely without merit, GoHostBiz may — at its sole and absolute discretion — offer a 50% partial refund on the base service price only.

When 50% Partial Refund MAY Be Considered

  • The hosting service had intermittent, verifiable issues that were partially but not fully resolved
  • Our technical team acknowledges a service deficiency but the issue does not meet the strict "complete failure" threshold
  • The issue was a combination of a minor hosting problem and a customer-side configuration issue
  • Exceptional circumstances where GoHostBiz management decides a partial refund is warranted as a goodwill gesture

Important Limitations on Partial Refunds

  • Applicable only to: Web Hosting (Shared cPanel) and Cloud Hosting plans within the 7-day window
  • Not applicable to: VPS, Student Hosting, Domain Registrations, Reseller R0/R1, Game Hosting, or Website Development
  • GST and taxes are NEVER refunded even in partial refund cases
  • Payment gateway charges are deducted from the refunded amount
  • Partial refund is at GoHostBiz's discretion — it cannot be demanded as a right or entitlement
  • The decision to offer a partial refund does not set a precedent for future cases
Partial Refund Calculation Example

Example Scenario

You purchased a Web Hosting Premium plan for ₹2,499 (base price ₹2,119 + ₹380 GST). You paid via Razorpay which charged ₹50 in gateway fees.

ComponentAmountRefunded?
Base Service Price₹2,11950% refunded = ₹1,059.50
GST (18%)₹380₹0 (never refunded)
Payment Gateway Fee₹50₹0 (deducted)
Total Refund Amount₹1,059.50

The customer receives ₹1,059.50, not 50% of the total ₹2,499 paid.

7. Game Hosting — Special Refund Rules

Unique refund provisions for Game Hosting plans with source code

Game Hosting plans are unique because they include free premium source code (game scripts, casino scripts, betting platforms, etc.) as a bonus inclusion. These plans have specialized refund rules that differ from standard hosting plans.

The ONLY Refund Scenario for Game Hosting

A refund for a Game Hosting plan will ONLY be approved in one specific scenario:

Scenario: Source Code NOT Delivered

GoHostBiz completely failed to deliver, send, or provide access to the promised source code files. This means:

  • You requested the source code via WhatsApp, support ticket, or email
  • More than 48 hours passed without receiving any code files or download links
  • Our team confirms that the source code was not sent due to an error or oversight on our part

Note: This applies ONLY when NO code was delivered at all. If ANY version of the source code was provided, the refund is invalid.

Scenarios Where Refund is REJECTED

The following Game Hosting refund reasons will be immediately rejected:

Rejected Refund Reasons — Game Hosting

  • "Source code is not working on my server" — Code functionality is not guaranteed
  • "Source code has errors/bugs" — Code is provided AS-IS as a free bonus
  • "I cannot set up the source code" — Setup assistance is a paid service, not included
  • "Source code doesn't match the demo exactly" — Demos may use different configurations
  • "Source code requires features I don't have" — Server environment compatibility is your responsibility
  • "I found this code available for free elsewhere" — The code is a free bonus; your payment was for hosting
  • "Hosting server is working but game script doesn't function" — This confirms the hosting service is fine; the code is the issue
  • "I changed my mind about the game niche" — Change of business direction is not a refund reason

Understanding the Game Hosting Value Proposition

When you purchase a Game Hosting plan for (example) ₹3,999, you are paying for:

  • Server hosting infrastructure (₹2,500+ value)
  • Free premium source code as a bonus (₹0 charge)

The source code is a gift, not a purchase. You cannot claim a refund because a free gift doesn't meet your expectations. You are refunded only if we failed to give you the gift at all.

8. Domain Registration & Transfer Refunds

Why domains are never refundable

All domain registrations, renewals, and transfers are strictly non-refundable under any circumstances. This applies to all domain extensions (.com, .in, .org, .net, .co.in, .biz, .info, and all others).

Why Are Domains Non-Refundable?
  • Registry Costs: When you register a domain, GoHostBiz pays the domain registry (Verisign for .com, NIXI for .in, etc.) a non-refundable registration fee. This cost cannot be recovered by us.
  • Permanent Registration: Domain registration is a permanent entry in the global DNS registry. Once registered, it cannot be "unregistered" or reversed. The domain exists for the full registration period.
  • Industry Standard: No domain registrar in the world offers refunds on domain registrations. This is a universal policy across the domain industry.
  • Ownership Transfer: While you cannot get a refund, you retain full ownership of the domain for its registration period. You can transfer it to another registrar or point it to any hosting provider.

If You No Longer Need the Domain

While we cannot refund your domain registration, you can:

  • Use the domain with any other hosting provider (you own it)
  • Sell or transfer the domain to another party
  • Set up domain forwarding to another website
  • Simply let it expire at the end of the registration period

We recommend carefully considering your domain name before registration, as this is a permanent purchase.

9. Website Development Refunds

Refund policy for custom website development services

Before Work Commencement — Full Refund

If you request a refund before any work has commenced on your website development project, a full refund of the service amount will be provided. "Work commencement" is defined as:

  • Delivery of initial design mockups or wireframes
  • Commencement of coding/development work
  • Delivery of any draft, prototype, or work-in-progress files
  • Registration of domain or procurement of hosting specifically for the project
  • Any communication confirming work has begun
After Work Commencement — No Refund

Once development work has commenced, refunds are not available for any reason, including:

  • Dissatisfaction with design direction (revisions are provided as per agreed scope)
  • Change of business plan or project cancellation
  • Finding a cheaper developer elsewhere
  • Disagreements over project timeline (timeline is agreed upon before commencement)

Dispute Resolution for Development Projects

If disputes arise during development, GoHostBiz is committed to resolving them amicably. We will work with you to address concerns, provide additional revisions within the agreed scope, and make reasonable accommodations. Escalation to formal refund requests should be a last resort after all resolution attempts have failed.

10. How to Request a Refund — Mandatory Process

Step-by-step procedure that must be followed exactly

To maintain fairness and ensure proper documentation, all refund requests must follow this mandatory process. Deviation from this process will result in automatic rejection of the refund request.

Step 1: Submit a Support Ticket FIRST

Go to your Client Area → Support → Submit Ticket. Select the appropriate department. Do NOT cancel your service at this stage. Clearly state the issue you are experiencing with your hosting service. Be specific — include error messages, timestamps, and a detailed description.

Step 2: Provide Complete Documentation

Attach screenshots, error logs, uptime monitoring reports, or any other evidence that demonstrates the hosting infrastructure issue. The more documentation you provide, the faster your case can be evaluated. Vague complaints without evidence will be closed without action.

Step 3: Allow 72 Hours for Resolution

Our technical team will investigate your issue and attempt to resolve it. This 72-hour period begins from the time of your ticket submission (during business hours). During this time, cooperate with our team, provide requested information, and allow access as needed.

Step 4: Escalation (If Unresolved)

If after 72 hours of investigation and attempted resolution, the issue remains unresolved, you may escalate the ticket to a formal refund request. Reply to the same ticket thread stating: "I request a refund as the issue remains unresolved after 72 hours of investigation."

Step 5: Management Review

Your case will be reviewed by GoHostBiz management. We will examine the ticket history, documentation provided, our team's resolution attempts, and the nature of the issue. This review typically takes 24-48 hours.

Step 6: Refund Decision

You will receive a formal response with our decision: Approved, Denied, or Partial Refund Offered. The decision will include detailed reasoning. All decisions are final and binding.

Step 7: Refund Processing (If Approved)

Approved refunds are processed within 5-7 working days from the date of approval. The refund is issued to the original payment method (same UPI ID, bank account, or card used for payment). You will receive a confirmation email with the refund transaction details.

CRITICAL: Self-Cancellation = Forfeited Refund

If you cancel your service directly through the client panel (using the cancellation button) without first submitting a support ticket and following the process above, you automatically and permanently forfeit all refund eligibility. This is non-negotiable. The cancellation button exists for customers who no longer need service, not as a refund mechanism.

Always contact support first. Never cancel before receiving a refund decision.

11. Refund Timeline & Processing

What to expect after your refund is approved

StageTimelineDescription
Ticket Submission Day 0 You submit the initial support ticket describing the issue
Technical Investigation Day 0–3 (72 hours) Our team investigates and attempts to resolve the issue
Refund Request Escalation Day 3 You formally escalate the ticket to a refund request
Management Review Day 3–5 (24-48 hours) Management reviews case history and makes a decision
Refund Decision Communicated Day 5 You receive formal notification of approval or denial
Refund Processing Day 5–12 (5-7 working days) Approved refunds processed to original payment method
Refund Appears in Account Day 7–15 Depending on bank/payment provider processing times

Factors That May Delay Refund Processing

  • Bank holidays or weekends extending the working days count
  • Payment gateway processing delays (beyond GoHostBiz's control)
  • Incomplete or incorrect refund account details provided by customer
  • Disputes or chargebacks filed simultaneously (halts all processing)

12. Deductions, Charges & Non-Refundable Components

What is deducted from your refund amount

Even when a refund is approved, certain components of your payment are never refundable and will be deducted from the refund amount:

ComponentRefundable?Notes
Base Service Price Yes (full or partial) The net price of the hosting service excluding taxes and fees
GST / CGST / SGST / IGST Never Refunded Tax amounts once deposited with the government cannot be reclaimed by GoHostBiz. Taxes are non-refundable even if the base service is refunded.
Payment Gateway Charges Never Refunded Razorpay, PayU, Instamojo and other gateways charge a processing fee (2-3%) that is not refunded to merchants. This fee is deducted from your refund.
Domain Registration Fee Never Refunded If your plan included a "free domain," the domain's actual registration cost (₹799-₹1,099 depending on extension) will be deducted from any refund.
SSL Certificate Cost Never Refunded If an SSL certificate was issued for your domain, its cost is deducted
Setup / Migration Fees Never Refunded One-time setup or website migration fees are non-refundable
Source Code License Fees Never Refunded If GoHostBiz paid for a source code license on your behalf, this cost is deducted

Comprehensive Refund Calculation Example

Scenario: You purchased a Web Hosting Business Plan with a free .com domain:

ItemAmountRefundable?Refund Amount
Hosting Plan (Annual)₹2,999Yes (100%)₹2,999
GST @ 18%₹540No₹0
Payment Gateway Fee (2.5%)₹88No₹0
Free .com Domain Cost₹899No₹0
Total Paid: ₹3,627Total Refunded:₹2,100

Note: The domain remains yours for the full year despite the deduction. The deduction represents the cost GoHostBiz paid to the registry on your behalf.

13. Refund Dispute Resolution

What happens if you disagree with our refund decision

Internal Review

If your refund request is denied and you believe the decision is incorrect, you may request an internal review within 48 hours of receiving the denial. To request a review:

  1. Reply to the same support ticket thread
  2. Clearly state that you are requesting an internal review of the refund decision
  3. Provide any additional evidence or arguments that were not considered in the original decision
  4. Do NOT open a new ticket — this will be merged and may delay the review

A senior manager (different from the original decision-maker) will review your case and provide a final decision within 48 hours. This internal review decision is final and binding.

Chargebacks & Payment Disputes

Warning About Chargebacks

Initiating a chargeback, payment dispute, or transaction reversal with your bank, credit card company, UPI provider, or payment gateway without first exhausting our internal refund process is a violation of our Terms of Service and will result in:

  • Immediate and permanent suspension of all your GoHostBiz services
  • Permanent account termination with no possibility of reactivation
  • All data permanently deleted without backup provision
  • Domain names associated with your account may be locked and non-transferable
  • Permanent blacklisting — you will never be able to use GoHostBiz services again
  • Legal action for recovery of chargeback fees, administrative costs, and damages

Chargebacks are considered a hostile action and will permanently sever the business relationship. Always work with us through the proper refund process.
